How much Experience do you have with weddings or DJing in general?

Accepted Answer

I've been DJing weddings for 11 years and have hundreds of successful weddings under my belt. I also have performed Night Sets at some of the biggest venues along the coast. Coyote Ugly, AJ's, Fudpuckers and several other Emerald Coast hot spots have had me perform DJ sets there. What Style of Music do you play at a wedding?

Accepted Answer

Every wedding is catered to your specific needs. What makes you and your family happy doesn't necessarily mean it is going to make the next family happy. That's why every wedding is customized to your liking.   During your wedding, each event and portion of the night is gone over during the planning process so that the atmosphere is tailored to your needs. There isn't a genre of music that we play that we don't have extensive knowledge in. The sky's the limit on your creativity!

Do you play Guests Music Requests?

Accepted Answer

Of course! Your guests are going to be a key influence on how well your reception goes. In fact, your friends and family feeling included in your wedding have the greatest impact on how successful your reception turns out. A positive and energetic atmosphere starts and ends with how well your guests feel comfortable at the wedding location. This is such an important part of your wedding that we have taken great steps into ensuring they feel like their voices are heard.    Using public playlists that your guests can contribute to from Spotify, Youtube Music, Apple Music, or any other streaming service you use can give you a great arsenal of music for your reception while also making it so that your guests feel comfortable at your reception. This combined with the extensive planning process will ensure a fun-filled and well rounded wedding.

How often can we communicate with each other?

There is no limit to the amount of calls, texts or emails we can have. In fact, the more we talk, the better your wedding experience is going to be. The planning process is just as important, if not more so than your actual wedding day. Every time we communicate about your wedding details, it makes it so that you and I have a better understaning of what your evening is going to feel and sound like.    We highly encourage you to reach out as often as possible with as many questions or concerns that you have. Remember, there are no such thing as dumb wedding questions!

Do you have a One-Event-Per-Day Policy?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Honestly this should be an industry standard for all wedding DJs. Unfortunately, that is not always the case. Double booking weddings on the same date is always a recipe for disaster. We take great pride in making sure that each day that a wedding is booked, it is our only focus.   If you are shopping around for DJs, we greatly encourage you to make sure this is not only a policy, but it's clearly written in either a contract or, at the very least, on the invoices.

Does your prices include Setup & Breakdown?

Accepted Answer

Setup and breakdown are always factored into the price. If you think about it, we couldn't perform your event in the first place if we didn't set up or breakdown our equipment. Charging you more than the quoted price to set up or breakdown is a shady business practice that we will never be a part of.

Question 7

Do you charge a Travel Fee to get to my wedding?

Accepted Answer

The only time that we charge a travel fee is if the wedding location is farther than roughly an hour outside of our home office location, which is Destin, FL. We say roughly because there are always exceptions to this rule and we will always work with you on your budget in this case.    If the wedding location is much further out than an hour, then we charge a flat $50 for the extra drive. Most couples end up not paying this amount if they utilize our discounts which can be located on the Services page for reference.

How much is the Deposit to Secure our wedding date?

We only ask for a 1/3 of the total to secure the date. Everyone at New Life Entertainment understands that wedding bills can be very high and that you might be paying for a lot, if not all of your wedding out of pocket. We want to make sure you get the best quality DJ service in the area while still being able to pay for your personal bills and lifestyle as well.

When is the Remaining Balance due?

As long as the payment is done sometime before the wedding day, then we are very flexible on this area. Just like the answer to the last question, we understand that wedding bills can be high and come at inconvenient times. We want to work with you as much as possible to ensure your personal life is maintained during the entire planning and payment process.   The only rule that we have is that we do not accept payments on the day of the wedding. All remaining balances have to be payed before your wedding date. Weddings are already full of excitement. Having to add paying a vendor on top of that is just adding undue stress to a day you should be having fun and enjoying.

Question 10

How do you handle Overtime or After-Party Hours?

Overtime or After-Party hours are generally billed at $150. This is an area that we highly recommend that you make a decision on shortly before you need it. What that means is that adding more time to your wedding before your actual wedding date can lead to a reception that feels like its going on longer than it should have. No matter how much you plan, you can never really plan for how physically draining weddings can actually be on you.   A late party the night before, a large DIY wedding or many other factors can influence how much energy you have at your reception. It doesn't mean that you are not going to have a fun wedding, it just means that how energetic you felt planning for overtime beforehand, and how you felt at the end of your wedding are two very different things. Having our One-Event-Per-Day Policy covers this so if you do want to keep the party going, we can provide that overtime as long as we abide by local Noise Ordnance Rules in the case of our equipment being located outside.
